Jered Vislisel, DDS, was raised on a farm between Mount Vernon and Cedar Rapids Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Physiology, then from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinic. He practiced general dentistry for four years in Minnesota before returning to Endodontic Residency at the University of Iowa.  His research on Gene-Activating Scaffolds for Dental Pulp Capping was awarded by the American Associated of Endodontics. He and his wife welcomed their first daughter in March 2019 and she keeps them pretty busy. He tries to stay active with traveling, boating, fishing, hiking, and biking. He follows the Iowa Hawkeyes in almost all collegiate sports but has been converted to Minnesota professional teams.
